At Stereo Exchange there’s an ambition to find the mysterious crossing point between art and design practices and materials, spatial references and freedom of expression outside of the normal paradigms of design and art.

Bente Skjøttgaard and Stefan Reiterer’s work in this show stem from the personal archive and present practice, with a curatorial bent inspired by the unearthed and rediscovered. Reiterer donates a life raft, a combatant to this uncertainty of light and dark, the raft is in the shape of a circular passage cutting through the space from floor to ceiling, focusing light, the oculus is covered in painterly strokes on a draping canvas  form, with bite sized foam extrusions perched like gargoyles from the wall, looking to protect and to propel Skjøttgaard's stoneware objects, which grow out into the room, tubular organic forms creating their own path like zoomed-in images of reeds deep under the ocean, with Skjøttgaard experience and fidelity in glaze and clay we glimpse a history and an untethered creative mind that moves through the organic to the exact and back around again.

Welcome and come enjoy a beer and art.
